Blue Courier Limited & Extended Warranty – Terms and Conditions
Blue Courier Limited & Extended Warranty – Terms and Conditions
Overview
Every shipment includes a complimentary Limited Warranty covering goods up to $450. Customers may also purchase an Extended Warranty with coverage of up to $100,000 per consignment. This warranty applies to general freight transported by road, rail, or air and offers protection against loss or damage during transit.
Certain goods are not suitable for transport within the Blue Courier network and are excluded from any compensation. Customers should review the list of prohibited and restricted items before booking. While the Extended Warranty covers most goods, exclusions still apply.
Liability Limits
- Maximum Extended Warranty cover: AUD $100,000 per shipment
- Standard Limited Warranty: up to AUD $450 per shipment (included automatically)
- For higher-value shipments, customers should contact Blue Courier directly
General Conditions
Blue Courier provides a warranty against loss or damage to goods while they are under its control, including when handled by its contractors or agents. This cover is subject to the terms outlined below.
The Limited Warranty applies automatically to all consignments, while the Extended Warranty may be purchased for higher-value protection.
Cover begins when goods are first moved for loading onto the transport vehicle and ends upon final delivery, or earlier if transit is interrupted.
Where loss or damage results from both controllable and uncontrollable factors (such as natural events), Blue Courier will assess its share of responsibility and compensate accordingly.
Claims Process and Requirements
Notification timeframes
Customers must notify Blue Courier in writing within:
- 7 business days if damage is noted at delivery
- 24 hours (1 business day) if the goods were signed as received in good condition
- 14 days for non-delivery or lost items
- 48 hours if delivered without acknowledgement (e.g. Authority to Leave), supported by photographic evidence
Claims must then be formally lodged within 30 days of notification.
Additional requirements
- Only one claim per consignment is permitted
- The declared value must reflect the true value of goods; under-declaration may reduce compensation
- Supporting documents must be provided (e.g. invoices, proof of purchase, or manufacturing costs)
- Payments are made directly to the customer via bank transfer
Warranty Limitations
The warranty is subject to the following conditions:

- It does not include delays, missed deliveries, or indirect/consequential losses
Compensation limits

- Used goods are assessed at depreciated market value
- GST and freight charges are excluded from payouts
If a claim is paid in full, Blue Courier may retain or dispose of the damaged goods.
Claims may be declined if there is no clear evidence that damage occurred during transit, unless prior conditions can be proven.
